KEYS N KRATES X JUSTICE REHEARSAL VERSION
So we've never really released raw rehearsal footage before on the net... really only to close friends for feedback and stuff, but we started thinking,, hmmm people dig crunchy, one mic rehearsal and live recordings of bands all the time, so why not us? Plus, we thought it would be cool to sort of involve our fans in the process of how we come up with stuff and eventually record it properly and integrate it into our live show. So here's our brand new Live Rmx of "Justice (Simian Mobile Disco) - We Are Your Friends." I'm super in love with this cause of how much we flipped it into some head nodding futuristic hip hop vibes. Straight from the rehearsal room, live, one take, one shitty recording device! Enjoy!

BROOKLYN SAYS "HI"
During our set this past Saturday at the Brooklyn Hip Hop festival, I had my personal camera in my hand on stage. I told the crowd to put their hands up and say hi so everyone back in Toronto could see them. They seemed pretty open to it.

RANDOMS
In the hotel room again, waiting to go perform at Perkins Park in Stuttgart. These hotels rooms they've been putting us up in have been the SHIT. They work on some card system where none of the power comes on unless you've inserted your room key into the designated slot. Germany is very energy conscious with wind and solar power everywhere.
Germany has been so hospitable to us. What can I say? BERLIN LAST NIGHT WAS AMAZING.
Could be my favorite place to play now. The crowd was crazy, vibe was crazy, venue was crazy. Shout outs to the cats at LiveDemo for bringing us down. Anyone traveling overseas you need to visit here. A strong artistic community is doing some real innovative shit.
On a side note, we've been up and down on the autobond criss-crossing the country. Germany as a whole is beautiful. Think I could live here. It was a 6 hour drive between Berlin and Stuttgart and with highways having no speed limit, we pushed the car to 200km. Still even at that speed some cars were still flying by us. Tune said at one time while the rest of us were sleeping, he tried to follow behind a ferrari but couldn't keep up once it decided to go into warp speed. I don't ever wanna drive at 120km again. TOO SLOW.
We've eaten a lot of cold cuts for breakfast, Schnitzel (hope I spelled it correctly), boiled eggs, and a few other foods that I can't remember the names. Over here you can buy alcohol anywhere at almost any time. There's been a few times we've stumbled out of the club at 5am and found a bar still open serving drinks?? Most days we lose track of time. It doesn't get dark over here right now until after 10pm any by 5am the sun is coming up again.
Thats it for now with my tour guide style post. Oh by the way,
I DONT WANNA GO HOME.

RANDOMS
Yeah can't talk long. The promoter is in the lobby of the hotel ready to take us over to the venue for Soundcheck. Its 5:50pm Frankfurt time. I just woke up from a beautiful nap. We landed this morning at 5:30am.
In the airport while waiting to get past customs, I was taking shots of the airport and people for fun. All of a sudden this huge German police officer comes over to me and in a thick German accent asks me to step out of line and show him the photos I have taken. Everyone in line stops and stares at us. I show him and he tells me that my camera could be confiscated for taking pics of the airport. He tells me to erase most of the pics. (Oddly he lets me keep a few, I don't know why)
Another random,
We get to our hotel around 7am. We eat some cold cuts for breakfast that the hotels are serving and walk around to explore our new territory. About a block down we find an all night techno rave party still going on. We jump in and the bartender gives us a few shots and beers. Partying at 7am wtf???
Ok that's it. The guys are texting me to get my ass downstairs.

MGMT - KIDS VIDEO
This was one of my favorite songs of last year if not my favorite. I remember one road trip from Toronto to Montreal I took to go D.J., I played this song on repeat almost the whole way there. That's 5 hrs. Anyways, there's now a video for it. Not really sure why it's only coming out now,, but ahh well.
IRIS CLOTHING
My two good friends from way back in the day (Merv and Mike's Dead) have this clothing brand called IRIS, which I've always really dug. Super clean, but unique details such as patterned breast pockets, detachable hoodies, and hidden pockets. These guys pay attention to the small things, and do it with taste, which for me is what makes clothing stand out. Sooooo, when Merv sent me over the details about their new website and spring drops, I had to post about it. Check out the site below and order some stuff for your wardrobe. But hurry, cause I know their stuff always goes pretty quick.
Sidenote: You might be wondering... Why is one of the designer's named "Mike's Dead?" Well we actually went to high school together, and one night after prom Mike and one of my other friends whom I won't name smoked waaaay too much weed, and Mike kept saying, "guys I think I'm dying, I think I'm dying", and then he passed out, and my other high friend was poking him (pause) and kept saying "Mike's Dead", "I think he's dead." As of Monday morning after the story was told in the cafeteria, Mike was now known as "Mike's Dead" to our group of friends. It's now 10 years later and we're still calling him "Mike's Dead." This whole thing I always found funny even though I typically don't really relate to funny things that happen to people when they're blunted cause I've never smoked,, but mainly I think it was just the permanent adoption of the name that always amused me.

JUST SAYIN...
At some point when we were on the road, Rod Stewart came up in the car. I dismissed him as a cornball, which he is, while Tune and Matisse defended him. Anyways, the other day I was in the grocery store in NY and I heard this joint. I had to to send a message to the other guys saying, "yah you were right, Rod Stewart has some shit." Still a cornball but has some stuff. Don't judge me...
