VENTING : Yamaha motif 7

Kay....I'm usually calm and collected with things when they go wrong but seriously right now.... THAT GOES OUT THE WINDOW.

Let me just put it out there that I love the yamaha motif series. Especially the hard to find Yamaha 7 which I have in my collection. HOWEVER, this keyboard's keys have broken on me so many fukin times in the middle of shows! My last show in Toronto a key got broken and I just got it fixed.

NYC on Wed was the first big show I've had since then and a key BROKE AGAIN. Yamaha WTF??? I play HARD I'm a passionate musician, when we get into our vibe I like my keyboards to be able to take the energy. This is not taking my ENERGY. I don't want bitch ass keys. MAN UP. I've spent like $500 on notes being broken in the last month.

The guy even told me he can't keep taking apart the thing and putting it back together without possibly screwing something else up now.

I just want my keyboard to be durable ok??? FUCCCCKKKKKK

KEYS N KRATES w K'NAAN & B' REAL

Its 2:55 am in the morning right now and we've just come from our Hot 97' showcase @ S.O.B's tonight with K'Naan and B Real from Cypress hill. I don't even have any pics to upload yet. We're staying in the East village right now in Manhattan. Weather's not bad, at least compared to Toronto. I'm on Tune's labtop right now ( mine got wrecked at new years, don't wanna go into cause it just makes me mad) about to crash for the night.

Tonight was good, reeeeaaaallll good. Gotta say this about S.O.B's it's quickly becoming one of my favorite spots to play.
We made some new fans and saw some decent music performances tonight. Shout out to K'Naan for doing his thing and representing Toronto.

NY crowds are notorious for being hard ass. Tonight though they gave it up for us. Felt fukin fabolous. Something about S.O.B's vibe there and the history. Anyway tank ya tank ya Big Apple.

FASHION CHECK: US

Seriously
our last photo shoot was kinda fun. Kay none of us are runway models, we showed up not knowing what to expect. We had our girl Shannon Boodram taking the photos for us and Zeb styling us. At first we were all kinda shy and not sure what to do but then you know... we just kinda swaggered up and the rest was history. Also shout outs to the KFC bucket of chicken we all decided to have as a guilty pleasure (our stomachs paid for it later) The funny thing is, if you were to see all the pics from the shoot, you can start to see it in our faces when the KFC poison starts to kick in.
Luckily this isn't one of them though.
This is one shot I picked from the shoot to post for now but you'll be seeing more from your friendly neighbourhood remixster's

EXILE X DJ DAY D-TRAIN FLIP...

This is really sick. Big up the homie Exile. I met him a couple years back when I did a solo D.J. set opening for The Roots in Toronto and he was down with Aloe blacc (another dope artist to check) and he was a real cool dude. He's a dope producer overall and has done some real crucial album cuts for G-Unit, Mobb Deep as well as less violent artists like Aloe Blacc haha. He's sick on the live MPC drumming. This is a vid where him and D.J. Day (on the keys) are doin a flip of D-Train's classic "You're the one for me." I also posted the D-Train video cause if you don't know that song,,, well everyone should just know this song. Could be one of the best dance songs ever.

Yup, Yup, check out this sweet mixtape of Common's greatest music from our boy Dj Pump. Common has been one of my fav artist's for a long time, so I'm hyped to have this for my Ipod on some of the long drives to shows. Classic cuts from the best. Hopefully there is a part 2 coming down the road. Dope

GOOD ASS MUSIC

I feel like there's so many co-signed up and coming rappers right now and not too many of them are really saying much aside from one or two joints. Right now it feels like rap is really scraping an empty ass bowl for it's next stars. This dude is mad refreshing. He has a catalogue of bangers and for me this is the real next rap superstar. He lights up every verse he's on leaving like "shiit he kinda killed it", and his overall song writing ability, and selection of music is dope as hell. He gets better every time I hear him. And he's from Toronto!!! :) Definitely makin us all proud!

GOOD ASS MUSIC

This dude is the truth. One of my favorite producers that I learned about last year. In particular his Presets, Chromeo, and Treasure Fingers Remixes really caught my attention. He truly knows how to bring that new wave vibe back in an authentic way while still progressing the music forward. I haven't stopped listening to his new joint "Sunset" since I downloaded it last week. I heard his live sets are ill so if he comes to your town, go see him.

TREMENDOUS RECORDS

So our boy Grandtheft (Team Canada) has started a label called TREMENDOUS RECORDS which is distributed by LAST GANG RECORDS (Chromeo, Crystal Castles etc.). The aim of the label is basically to develop dope new artists. Their first release comes from Denmark's duo the Wong Boys who are on some fun dance vibes,, but you can tell the lead singer has some punk rock in him. It's called "Git Ur Fuk On" and it's a lot of fun. I'm callin this to be a huge club record. Since these guys are fam look out for KnK flipping up this track real soon. Also we have a showcase with these guys along with other artists from Last Gang and Tremendous in Toronto for CMW. More on that later. Anyhow,, go peep the unofficial press release and you can hear a stream of "Git Ur Fuk On" as well as download a dope remix of it by the big homie Dj Illo. Definitely look out for tons of quality music to come off this label.

PICS FROM BROOKLYN SHOW

Big up Morsy, Crooked Disco peeps, Nanachill crew, Chris from FreeNYC and Public Assembly for making this happen. Also shout out to everyone that came through. Show was nuts. On a sidenote, I should mention that when we arrived at the venue for an 8pm soundcheck, there was a huge crowd of drunk white ppl dressed like vikings just leaving the venue. The security dude told us that these crazy ppl get into teams, dress in costumes and have a footrace over the Williamsburg bridge IN THE DEAD OF WINTER from the city into Brooklyn, and then came to the venue for a preorganized drunken viking afterparty. WTF! I wish I had pictures of this. People really do some crazy shit down here. Instead I just have pictures of the show which doesn't possess the same level of weirdness, but I like to think was equally as fun.
